Approach: Dirt road off Highway 178.
Allow: Full day for 8 miles and 3400′ gain.
Difficulty: Class 2.
This was day four of a peakbagging outing I posted on California Peaks. Somehow we managed to save the hardest peak for the last day. We decided to get an early start.

Day hike to Stewart Point, January 1, 2016
Approach: From Highway 178.
Allow: 5-6 hours for 6.5 miles and 2600′ gain.
Difficulty: Class 2.
This was day three of a four day peakbagging outing I posted on California Peaks. It was a beautiful, clear morning. The temperatures were slightly less frigid than when we started but still chilly. We stayed up late the night before enjoying bubbly and trading adventure stories. I was feeling good about the new year.

Approach: From Deadman Pass.
Allow: About an hour for the dirt road drive and 5-6 hours for 6.5 miles and 2000′ gain.
Difficulty: Chill class 2.
